Al Mawasi Massacre
At least 40 Palestinians have been killed and 60 injured in terror group of Israel's airstrike that targeted tents of displaced people sheltering in the Al-Mawasi “safe zone” in Khan Yunis, yesterday, September 9, 2024.
Spokesperson for the Civil Defense in Gaza:
○ Some families have completely disappeared in the Al-Mawasi massacre in Khan Yunis.
○ The craters in the ground following the strikes are very deep and more than 20 tents have completely disappeared.
○ The occupation targeted a humanitarian area in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Yunis without prior warning.
○ Our crews do not have the necessary equipment to deal with the massacre.
○ We are suffering a clear collapse in the Civil Defense apparatus and hospitals as a result of the aggression.
Once again, the IOF used American-provided MK-84 bombs, 2,000 bombs with 900 pounds of explosives, in the Mawasi Khan Younis massacre today. These are the same bombs used in the July 2024 Mawasi massacre, which resulted in over 70 martyrs.
The explosive ammunition makes up 45% of the bomb's total weight and can create a crater about 15 meters wide and over 10 meters deep. It causes deadly damage around it, with a radius of approximately 73 meters.
These same US weapons have been used in previous massacres including in Jabalia, Al-Maamadani Hospital massacre, and Al-Nusseirat market massacre where US assistance to IOF was directly involved. The United States has provided the zionist entity with 14,000 of these 2-ton bombs since October 7th.

According to the Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, terrorist Israel has bombed 16 shelter schools in the Gaza Strip since the start of August, 15 of them in northern Gaza.
These attacks resulted in the deaths of at least 217 displaced Palestinians and the injury of hundreds.
Euro-Med reports that this comes as part of Israel's dangerous escalation in systematically targeting schools housing displaced Palestinians without prior warning.
Yesterday night (Sept 7, 2024), Israel bombed the Halima al-Saadia school in northern Gaza's Jabalia, killing at least 4 displaced Palestinians.
This came hours after targeting the Amr Ibn al-Aas school in Gaza City, killing at least four others – one of them a child.
