An independent  assessment by South Korea Military Media said that major missile strikes by Iran have caused significant damages to terrorist  Israeli F-35 base in Nevatim, with all stealth fighters destroyed.

Tagged as "True Promise 2," the operation comes after a year of increased tensions between Tehran and Tel Aviv. It is a long-awaited response to an Israeli attack on Tehran on July 31. Iran had reportedly agreed not to retaliate if Israel calmed things down, but Israel's actions in Lebanon and against the Iranian-aligned militia group Hezbollah were seen as breaking that agreement.

On October 1, a large Iranian ballistic missile strike hit targets in Israel, including Nevatim Air Base. This base is home to both of Israel's F-35 fifth generation fighter squadrons, with plans for a third squadron in the future. According to Iranian media, the attack completely destroyed the facility. Videos from Israel show the impact of numerous ballistic missiles that managed to evade the country's air defense system. Among the targets hit was the headquarters of the Mossad intelligence agency in Tel Aviv, which was reportedly destroyed in the strike.

According to reports, the attack destroyed a large number of F-35s at Nevatim Air Base - more than 20 fighters were taken out, making the stealth fighters a prime target in Israel. The base is known as Israel's "most crucial air base" because of the significance of the F-35 in the country's fleet. With only two squadrons of these expensive stealth jets in Israel's possession, they play a vital role as the rest of the fighter fleet relies on outdated avionics and mechanically scanned array radars.

Israeli plans for potential attacks on Iran heavily rely on the F-35s due to their stealth capabilities and advanced technology. These fighter jets are equipped with electronic warfare systems and air defense suppression features, making them the perfect choice for such operations.

However, the destruction of F-35s would hinder Israel's ability to respond with further escalation. Despite having a third squadron's worth of F-35s on order, there have been significant production delays. This means that Israel will only start receiving the newly ordered fighters from 2028, as the production rates are well below what was initially planned. So, while F-35s are vital assets for Israel's military strategy, the delays in production have created a long waiting period for the delivery of these fighter jets.
